Malindi police recover body, two skulls, rescue four near Shakahola Forest
Three of those rescued, all women, appeared frail and were immediately rushed to Malindi Sub-County Hospital for medical attention.
Police in Malindi have recovered a body, two human skulls, and rescued four individuals during a security operation in a remote homestead within Kwa Binzaro village, Adu Ward, situated a few kilometres from the infamous Shakahola Forest.
The raid, led by Kilifi County Commissioner Josphat Biwott, targeted a secluded settlement deep in the forest.

Authorities say three of those rescued, all women, appeared frail and were immediately rushed to Malindi Sub-County Hospital for medical attention.
The fourth person, a man, was reportedly in stable condition.
“One man and three women were rescued. The women were quite weak while the man seemed to be doing fine,” Biwott said.
According to Biwott, the recovered body appeared to have died approximately two days prior to the raid.
The body, along with the skulls, has been transferred to the Malindi Sub-County mortuary for preservation and forensic analysis.
The owner of the homestead, reportedly located on land purchased in the Chakama area, was not present during the operation and remains unidentified.
Authorities have not yet determined whether the site is connected to any cult-related activities.
“We cannot make conclusions at this point. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) will conduct a thorough probe to establish the nature of this homestead and what transpired there,” Biwott added.
Investigations are ongoing following the discovery.
